Accessibility.

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. This statement sets out the standard we aim for, where we currently fall short, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Our commitment

Many of the people we work with are in central and local government, and accessibility matters to us regardless of who is reading. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA — the level referenced by the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility Standard.

How we're tracking

We build accessibility in from the start and improve it continuously. Measures already in place include:

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading order and landmark regions
  • Keyboard access to navigation, forms, the project map and the ITA scoping tool
  • AAA-level contrast on body text, hero text and primary buttons
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive controls
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images, with decorative graphics marked as such
  • Reduced-motion support — animations and the autoplaying case-study video reels fall back to static images when your device asks for reduced motion
  • Text that reflows and stays readable on small screens and at increased zoom

A formal WCAG 2.2 AA audit — covering keyboard operation, screen-reader output, the interactive map and our PDF outputs — is scheduled. We will update this statement when it is complete.

Known limitations

We're aware of the following and are working on them:

  • A small number of secondary labels set in our brand green sit just below the AA contrast threshold against their background. Body text, primary actions and navigation all meet or exceed AA.
  • The interactive project map uses third-party map tiles; we provide an accessible text list of every project beneath the map as an alternative.
  • The ITA Scoping Tool produces a downloadable PDF brief. We are adding an equivalent on-screen summary so the output does not depend on PDF tagging.

Tell us about a barrier

If you hit something on this site you can't use, please tell us — it helps us fix it. Email admin@ttap.co.nz with "Accessibility" in the subject line, describe the page and the problem, and we'll respond within five working days and get you the information you need in a format that works for you.
