Overview
Following the council’s Speed Management Plan, KCDC commissioned TTAP to deliver a programme of Variable Electronic Speed Sign installations at 13 schools across the district (contract 2024-C006). The scope ran from specification through to operational handover.
What we did
- Procurement management — scope design, engineer estimate, tender preparation, tender evaluation
- Contractor management — project plan preparation, installation oversight across 13 sites
- Site coordination — replacement of existing static speed-limit signs with the new variable units
- Stakeholder facilitation — engagement between council, community boards, schools, residents and NZ Police
- MSQA — contract management of installation quality, supplier engagement, sign performance verification
- RAMM update — completed asset records uploaded to council’s RAMM database for ongoing maintenance accountability
Outcome
All 13 sites delivered against programme. Each school zone now has context-aware variable signage with maintenance accountability locked into RAMM. The procurement record is auditable and the comms record gives the council a precedent template for the next round of speed management interventions.
